Eight S. Korean journalists to fly to Beijing ahead of N. Korea nuke test dismantling event
  • 6 years ago
Eight South Korean journalists will fly to Beijing on Monday after they were invited to North Korea to view the dismantlement of the Punggye-ri nuclear test.
However,.. there's some concern about whether they'll be allowed to travel on to the North... as Pyongyang refused late last week to accept a list of the South Korean journalists that would be going,... without offering an explanation.
North Korea has said it would allow reporters from five countries, including South Korea, to observe the dismantling of the nuclear site.
The North invited four reporters each from a South Korean news agency and a broadcaster as well as journalists from the U.S., Britain, China and Russia.
A chartered plane is set to fly the reporters from Beijing to North Korea on Tuesday.
The dismantlement event is scheduled to start on Wednesday.
