Zener is a large scale robot much larger then diode. He uses two Sharp IR sensors to see around and a Parallax Ping sensor mounted on a servo to pan the area left and right and choose which direction is the clearest to go. He uses two large 24V scooter motors per front drive wheel which are two solid rubber 8 inch wheels driven by chain and sprocket. Each motor has its own 12v battery and its own Parallax HB-25 controller. Two 12v lead acid battery chargers are mounted under the robot with indicator LED's for charge and a power outlet under front of robot to plug it into wall to charge. Uses an Arduino Mega micro controller as the brain all powered by a separate set of 8 AA batteries.
