Space lab volunteers return to real world after 1-year simulation

In scenes reminiscent of Netflix smash hit 'Annihilation', ecosystem volunteers return to the real world after completing a year in a simulated space lab named Lunar Palace 1. They finally emerged on May 15.

In the video, four volunteers, originally students at Beihang University in Beijing, walk out of the Lunar Palace 1 Bioregenerative Life-Support Laboratory with the cereals and vegetables they grew themselves.

Another video shows the volunteers taking good care of the vegetables planted in the cabin.

According to reports, the volunteers went into the isolated cabin on May 10, 2017 and stayed in it for 370 days – creating a new record for the number of days spent in a self-contained cabin.
