This incredible drone footage captures the mating ritual of two humpback whales.

Footage filmed on May 14 in the ocean near the island of Reunion shows the two magnificent creatures breaching the ocean surface and swimming alongside one another.

The humpback whale can grow from 12 to 16 metres long.

Every year, the animals migrate thousands of kilometres to tropical climates in order to breed.
