Viacom Cuts 100 Jobs On Tuesday, a Viacom spokesperson confirmed to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that 100 cuts to the support staff were made due to restructuring. “As part of our broader transformation efforts, we are continuously taking steps to strengthen and evolve Viacom for the future, including a focus on becoming a more agile and efficient organization.” This is the company’s third round of cuts after layoffs in March 2015 and September 2017, which were made to cut company costs. Viacom, which is the parent of Paramount Pictures, has been in talks to merge with CBS, which analysts predict could reach $500 to $750 million or more.
