How to Make Homemade Eggnog

There isnt much better during the holidays than a thick and delicious eggnog! Now make it from home and enjoy it anytime you want. \r

People either love eggnog or hate eggnog, Personally I love it, like LOVE it, and I hate waiting for the holidays to have it, so I make it year round on my own in my kitchen. \r

EGGNOG RECIPE\r
Printable Recipe \r
2/3 C sugar\r
6 egg yolks\r
pinch of salt\r
4 C milk\r
2 C whipping cream\r
6 Tbsp sugar\r
6 egg whites\r
1 tsp nutmeg\r
2 tsp vanilla (optional)\r
in a saucepan heat up the milk, cream until warm\r
Whisk the sugar, egg yolks and salt together\r
temper some of the warm liquid into the egg yolks, stirring the entire time\r
add the mixture back into the saucepan and heat until it reaches 160 degrees F\r
Take off heat and let cool\r
Whip the 6 Tbsp sugar and egg whites together until ribbony (just before you reach soft peaks)\r
Stir the nutmeg and vanilla into the egg mixture\r
Add the egg whites into the yolk mixture and stir together\r
keep refrigerated, stir before serving\r

NOTE\r
if the raw egg whites bother you simply use pasteurized eggs (aka safe eggs),\r
