QUAD TEST DRIVE: 911 GT3, 675LT, AMG GT R, Vantage GT8

The new Porsche 911 GT3 joins the fleet and what would be better than to drive each car back to back to see how they compare? While choosing an actual winner might be impossible, the opportunity to do this is very much a pinch moment.

Collecting the Porsche 911 GT3 and immediately embarking on the 'Ring Wing Ting' trip with friends to the Nurburgring, accompanied by the other winged supercars from my garage: McLaren 675LT Spider, Aston Martin Vantage GT8 and the Mercedes-AMG GT R. But driving them back to back, how do they compare and what are the experiences like?

As we head on day two from Paris towards Germany, we start at the Eiffel Tower and make stops at the legendary Reims-Gueux circuit before venturing over to Spa-Francorchamps for a stunning photo of them all together.

In the line-up we have cars with very different dynamics and configurations, from the 4.0l flat-6 rear engine found in the new Porsche GT3 to the mid-engine 3.8l Twin Turbo V8 in the McLaren 675LT, and then the two front engined cars; the paddle-shift AMG GT R with a 4.0l Biturbo V8 and the manual Vantage GT8 with a stonking naturally aspirated 4.7l V8 with the most ridiculous exhaust sound imaginable.

To summarise, the GT3 feels like a precision tool, the GT R is one you can comfortable travel long distances but still push on with, the GT8 is truly about the drama and raw experience, with the 675LT providing the real supercar experience.
