Former President Barack Obama has sent out a special greeting for Mother’s Day.

Former President Barack Obama has sent out a special greeting for Mother's Day, tweeting, "Happy Mother's Day to every mom out there, especially the remarkable moms in my life, @MichelleObama and my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson."
Obama's own mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, died from uterine and ovarian cancer at the age of 52 in 1995, just two years before he became an Illinois state senator.
He has been quoted as describing what she gave to him as "a sense of unconditional love that was big enough that, with all the surface disturbances of our lives, it sustained me, entirely."
During his time in office, Obama seemed to take particular time and attention in celebrating Mother's Day. In 2015, he personally called and thanked three mothers who had written him letters.
