A new study reveals less than 10% of Twitter users can detect a fake news tweet.

That small percentage was only likely to say that the original tweet wasn’t accurate.

Users who wrote comments to try to confirm the information were just as rare.

Between 86 and 91% of the study subjects helped spread misinformation instead.
