As the successor to the Gallardo, the Huaracan had quite a lot to live up to. The Gallardo was lamborghinis best selling model of all time, with 14,000 units produced over its 10 year lifespan. But like the Pagani Zonda, people began wondering, how many damn variations of the same car can they possibility make. It turns out, quite a few. But the Mayan Hurricane god has arrived. With 602hp. \r

Its 5.2L V10 produces an astonishing 602hp and 413lb ft of torque. But equally insane is lamborghinis choice to fit the new model with a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox. This means faster shifts, more effeciency, and it does a little number on the cars 0-60 time. \r

Before I tell you how fast this car accelerates (although im sure you already know) lets ivate launch control. Turn trion control off, ivate corsa mode, place one foot on the brake and the other on the gas. The car revs to 4500rpm and Were off!!\r

I have no words to describe the acceleration of this car. Its faster than anything Ive ever driven, by a lot. And it equals the feeling of a Bugatti veyron up to about 70mph. 0-60 happens in a non-sensical 2.5 seconds. Yah, 2.5 seconds. \r

The previous baby lambo had a single clutch e gear system which was radically different from that found in the new Huracan. Shifts were slower but significantly more brutal. Personally I love the drama the old dinosaur created, but you cant argue with the perfomance lamborghini has achieved. (talk more about the transmission here). \r

With a dry weight of 3135lbs the Huracan has an insane power to weight ratio. This is thanks to a larger usage of carbon fiber and aluminum making it 10% lighter than the gallardo, and 50% more rigid. The suspension, chasis, and steering are all revamped as well. Everything seemed more precise and refined than the old model. Dare I saw, a bit ferrari esk. \r

I waited impatiently for pictures of the Huracan to be released. I signed up for lamborghinis emailing advertisements, refreshing my inbox constantly. After the initial foreplay, there it lay in my unopened mail, a video displaying the Huracan fully nude. Ill be honest I was a bit underwhelmed. It seemed. A bit tame. The lines are smoother than ever before and while many hexagonal shapes remain, it seemed to be more beautiful and less optimus prime fighter jet batman aircraft carier like. \r

In person its a different story. No its not as eye catching as the Aventador, but its beautiful none the less. The front is ever so aggressive and the new massive quad tailpipes look menacing. Place this car next to a first generation gallardo and the old bull looks straight out of the 90s. Futuristic? Definitely! \r

The interior is lightyears ahead of the gallardo. Its gorgeous and borrows many of the interior bits of the aventador that I know and love. The fighter jet start button and the large paddles seem familiar, but the new dash littered with hexagons is refreshingly striking. The Gallardo was not known for having a particularly awe inspiring cabin. But this, this is a work of art. \r

Talk about the handling as compared to the gallardo. \r

The exhaust note is an extremely important aspect in any supercar. The Gallardo featured one of the more beautiful V10 symphonies ever to come spitting out the tailpipes of an automobile. The huracan is no different, its quad flute plays the song of my people. I dont know what that means. But its EPIC. Listen to this. \r

The Huracan is brilliant. Its a perfect successor to the Gallardo and will no doubt go on to sell as many and Lamborghini plans to. The new drivetrain is seamless, efficient and brutally quick. Its better to drive around town and more prical than ever before. Hopefully its also a good getway car, because Im now going to rob a bank so I can go buy one. Like the scoripians song, Ive been rocked by the huracan. Im in love. \r
