BMW Group Plant Regensburg

BMW Regensburg plant began producing automobiles for world markets in 1986, at first with only one assembly hall. By 1990, a paintwork shop and facilities for manufacturing body components were completed. The press shop was built in 1997. About 10,000 employees are taking care for the 880 BMW cars leaving the assembly lines daily, which include six variants of the BMW 3 Series: Touring, Coupe, Convertible, and Saloon as well as exclusive M3 models and four-wheel-drive versions of the 3 Series. The BMW 3 Series Touring, Coupe, and Convertible are only manufactured in Regensburg. Starting in 2004, the Regensburg plant will also be producing the BMW 1 Series in addition to the 3 Series.
