1.5 Million Join Manila Anti-Poverty March

Around 1.5 million people joined a march against poverty organized by a Philippines-based church group in Manila on Sunday, May 6.Iglesia ni Cristo planned to organize marches in 44 countries for its Worldwide Walk to Fight Poverty with the largest event in Manila, according to a statement from the group.Church members walked around a mile from the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex in Pasay City to Roxas Boulevard in Manila, Tempo reported.The Philippines Star reported about 23,235 members of the Iglesia ni Cristo church stood together to form the words “proud to be a member of Iglesia ni Cristo” in attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest human sentence.
