Kilauea Volcano on Hawaii's Big Island erupted on Thursday (May 3) and residents have been told to evacuate.

Video shows the view from the Kilauea Observation Area at the Hawai'i Volcanos National Park.

Writes the filmer: "(At) around 5pm, the lava appeared 30 miles south of this point in the Leilani Estates area of Big Island. A wall in the crater collapses and shoots out this flume of smoke and ash from the volcano's crater."
