Trump Says Money For His Lawyer Cohen 'Not From the Campaign'

On Thursday, President Donald Trump said his personal lawyer was paid back through a monthly retainer, and not campaign funds, for the hush-money given to adult-film star Stormy Daniels, to stop accusations she made about a sexual encounter with him. Over Twitter, Trump said the funds were part of a “private agreement” that involved money that had “nothing to do with the campaign.” Trump said that the “agreement was used to stop the false and extortionist accusations made by her about an affair.
