Survivors from the Sao Paulo residential building fire have been forced to live in tents next to the remains of the tower while it is still smouldering.

Footage captured today (May 3) shows people camping on the streets with their tents and belongings.

Firefighters can be seen extinguishing the flames in a mountain of debris three days after the building collapsed.

According to reports, four people died in the blaze and more than forty people are still missing.

The fire has shone a spotlight on the housing crisis in São Paulo, where thousands are living in abandoned buildings due to the city's unaffordable rents.
