Victoria Police Seize Over $10M Worth of Bute From Craigieburn Junkyard

Over $10 million worth of drug related to overdoses in Melbourne clubs and festivals was seized by Victoria Police from a junkyard in Craigieburn on April 28.Police in white hazmat suits wheel out drums and containers of 1,4-Butanediol, or Bute, as seen in this video. The drug is often sold as liquid ecstasy, and is legal to import into Australia for industrial purposes under Commonwealth law, according to The Age.The Melbourne-based newspaper quoted police as saying that a criminal syndicate planned to move the drug to rural Victoria, and distribute it across Shepparton, Cobram, Wangaratta and Wodonga.
