Heartwarming moment man rescues chipmunk from certain death
  • 6 years ago
A man rescued a tiny chipmunk from drowning in a bucket of water.

The footage, captured in northern Montana, shows the man catching the chipmunk after removing the water from the bucket.

The man then places the little one on the ground - which can be seen struggling to move.

The animal can’t stop shivering so the man wraps it in his t-shirt and takes the animal home to nurse.

The filmer writes: ‘’It is hard to say how long he had been stuck in that situation it was obvious that he would not have lasted much longer in that cold water.

‘’After I got him in the house and dried off he continued shivering for a good 30 minutes as I held him in my arms to try to worm him up.

‘’I didn’t really know what else to do, so I just keep holding him.

‘’Finally, he stopped shivering and seemed to be asleep after about 40 minutes so, I made up a little bed for him in a cereal bowl with a cotton washcloth and tried to lay him down in it.

‘’But that’s when he finally woke up. Then I guess he decided to play it safe and jumped off my kitchen counter and ran out of the house.

‘’It would have been so cool to domesticate him but I am happy he’s outside doing his thing again. But man, he was so cute!

‘’Maybe we’ll bump into each other again someday and he’ll remember me. I know I won’t forget him.’’

The clip was filmed in October 2017.
