Mark Zuckerberg Announces Facebook Dating Feature CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the dating feature at the F8 developer conference on Tuesday, adding that it will help users build “meaningful, long-term relationships.” Zuckerberg also addressed possible privacy concerns, following the Cambridge Analytica scandal. “Your friends aren't going to see your profile, and you're only going to be suggested to people who are not your friends.” Facebook Chief Product Officer Chris Cox presented mock-ups of the feature, which appears similar to dating apps like Bumble and Tinder. The app’s integration will involve events and groups, which Cox stated “mirrors the way people actually date, which is usually at events and institutions that they're connected through.” The release date of the feature will be announced later this year.
