A blue heeler by the name of Max became the first honorary police dog in Queensland’s history on May 1, as local authorities followed through on a promise made after Max helped ensure the safe return of a lost three-year-old girl.Queensland Police Service promised Max would receive the honor after he stayed with a toddler named Aurora, who became lost in a “mountainous” and "inhospitable " area of Warwick, in southeast Queensland, on the night of April 20.
