Flash flooding hit an Egyptian hotel popular with tourists earlier this week.

Footage showed rivers of water flowing through Dolphin Beach Resort in Ain Sokhna, which lies to the east of Cairo on the Gulf of Suez.

Rare heavy rainfall has pummeled the Egyptian capital and other parts of the country.

Flooding forced authorities to close highways connecting Cairo to other provinces, according to local media.
