Crazy Rich Asians is an American romantic comedy-drama film based on Kevin Kwan's novel of the same name. Produced by Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force, it is directed by Jon M. Chu. The film stars Constance Wu, Henry Golding, Gemma Chan, Awkwafina, Lisa Lu, Ken Jeong, and Michelle Yeoh, and follows a young Asian American woman who meets her boyfriend's parents only to find out they are one of the richest families in Singapore. It will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures and is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 15, 2018. It is the first film by a major Hollywood studio in 25 years to feature Asians in leading roles since 1993's The Joy Luck Club.
