Amidst row over SC's judgment on Judge Loya case; day 57 of our NewsX NPA files & more

After the Supreme Court dismissed petitions seeking independent probe into the death of special CBI judge Loya, the Congress has challenged the judgment and said that the verdict left many questions unanswered and that it marks a sad day in history. The Congress has reiterated its demand for a probe into Judge Loya's death. The SC had ruled that Loya died of natural causes and that the petitions were a serious attempt to scandalise and obstruct the course of justice.

Amidst the row over SC's judgment on Judge Loya case. Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has said that Congress might raise CJI impeachment motion once again in the opposition meet scheduled for tomorrow. Last time the impeachment motion against CJI Dipak Misra seemed to have lost momentum, with many opposition parties remaining indecisive. Though Congress reportedly secured around 65 signatures, 15 more than needed to file the motion in the Rajya Sabha, several of those become invalid as a few MPs retired.
