Prehispanic excavation site emerges from Uruguayan sand dunes

Crouched over what look like small stones, a group of unlikely visitors dig inside the sand dunes of one of Uruguay’s most famous beach resorts, which now harbors an excavation site revealing traces of indigenous peoples who lived in the area before the Spanish invasion.
