Steven Spielberg Becomes First Director to Gross $10 Billion Worldwide With his latest film, Ready Player One, bringing in $475.1 million at the global box office, Spielberg has become the first director to cross $10 billion collective gross for all of his movies, according to Box Office Mojo. The acclaimed director’s largest success remains the original 'Jurassic Park', which brought in $983.8 million, followed by 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' ($786.6 million) and 'E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial' ($717 million). Not only did Spielberg become the first director to $10 billion, he is also the only one who was close. Peter Jackson, who directed all of The Lord of the Rings films, is the next closest at around $6,502.7 billion.
