'That Means The End Of His Job': Trump Jokes After Crowd Applauds John Bolton
  • 6 years ago
President Trump on Monday joked about being "jealous" when John Bolton received an applause from the audience.

President Trump made a joke during Monday's small business roundtable discussion in Florida. After the crowd welcomed National Security Adviser John Bolton with great enthusiasm in the wake of the airstrikes against Syria, Trump quipped, "John, that's pretty good. I didn't expect that. I'm a little jealous."
He then turned to the audience and said, "Are you giving him all the credit? You know that means the end of his job."
Trump was apparently referencing a much-discussed comment he made about former FBI Director James Comey. During a January 2017 reception, Trump called attention to Comey and said, "He's become more famous than me."  Months later, he fired Comey.
