Police in Mountain View, California, released body camera footage showing officers’ n April 3 interactions with Nasim Aghdam, the woman identified as being behind the YouTube shooting the same day.The video shows police approaching her vehicle in which she was sleeping and learning she was listed as missing and “at risk” because she left without her cell phone and banking card. During the officers’ conversation with Aghdam, she said she had been having trouble with her family and wouldn’t be returning to the San Diego area. She gave them her new cell phone number and asked officers, who said they would be contacting her family, to not give the number to her family.Police said in a press release officers contacted Aghdam’s father, Ismail Aghdam, who confirmed the two were not getting along. He called police back to tell them Aghdam was upset about a change in YouTube policies and that may be why she was in the area.“At no point in either of our conversations did the family bring up any concerns about their daughter’s behavior, any potential violence she may carry out, or any likelihood that she could be a danger to herself or others,” police said in the press release. The calls with the father were not recorded and that phone conversations that are not part of an investigation are not usually recorded, police said in the press release.Police said they were releasing the footage after San Bruno police had reviewed it.Three people were injured during the April 3 shooting, and Aghdam was the only death reported.
