Toddler Inspires Twitter by Imitating Muslim Prayer

A toddler is warming hearts on Twitter after his sister shared a video of him imitating his teachers, who practice Islam, in prayer.Kylia Merrell of Portland, Oregon, shared the video of her little brother Trace seeming to prostrate himself on a mat. “My brother has been doing this thing where he pulls a mat out of his diaper bag and lays on it like this and we couldn’t figure out what he was doing,” she wrote in her tweet.She added: “A few of his teachers at daycare are Muslim and we realized he’s seen them pray and now he does it too.”While many users praised the sweet moment, some said the child was being coerced or influenced. “He will learn love and respect and to stand up to any hateful people like yourself,” Merrell tweeted at one user. She later stated that she hopes her brother can inspire people to be kind and respectful. As of writing, the video has over 100,000 retweets and over six million views on Twitter.
