Chinese actress Liu Yifei, (aka Crystal Liu), plays the heroine role, Mulan.
Known for his role in "The Expendables," Jet Li may play the emperor of China. He's currently in casting talks.
Donnie Yen is joining the cast as Commander Tung, Mulan's mentor.
Gong Li of "Memoirs of a Geisha," will play Shan Yu, a new witchy villain.
The live-action remake is fashioned after 1998 animated Mulan film.
