SAG-AFTRA Moves to End Business Meetings in Hotel Rooms
On Thursday, The Hollywood Reporter said the union is planning a series of documents and guidelines to end private meetings in “high-risk locations.” The first document, titled “No Auditions or Interviews in Private Hotel Rooms or Residences,” observes that “misconduct… often occurs outside of the formal workplace setting.” The union developed the guidelines after meeting with members around the country, industry stakeholders and a broad range of experts. SAG-AFTRA also issued a Code of Conduct on sexual harassment in February, following the onslaught of allegations coming out of Hollywood.
