Scientists Successfully Peanut Test Allergy ‘Vaccine’ in Mice A new therapy for allergies is being developed by the Mary H. Weiser Food Allergy Center at the University of Michigan. According to ABC News, the therapy essentially makes the immune system respond to an allergen with a different pathway, which can prevent the activation of cells that cause allergic reactions. We're changing the way the immune cells respond upon exposure to allergens. Importantly, we can do this after allergy is established, which provides for potential therapy of allergies in humans. The treatment is still in the early stages and is a long ways away from being tested on humans.
