DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas Mavericks (24-58) closed the regular season in front of a home crowd against the Phoenix Suns (21-61). The Suns followed suit by benching their top players as well like Devin Booker, Marquese Chriss, and TJ Warren.

Mavs veteran Dirk Nowitzki addressed the media before the game to ensure his return for a 21st season here with Dallas. He opted for the ankle surgery now in preparation for his possible final season. Nowitzki finished this played and started in 77 games and finished with 12.0 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.6 APG.

Dallas took command early by jumping on a 6-0 run to start the game.

Aaron Harrison launched a 3-pointer to beat the buzzer and give the Mavs a 10-point advantage going into halftime.
