Flint Residents Wait in Long Lines for Bottled Water as Free Program Ends

Flint, Michigan, residents have been lining up to get the last bottled water distributed by the state in response to high levels of lead in the water, after Gov. Rick Snyder announced the service would end on Friday, April 6.State officials now say lead levels are decreasing from crisis levels, a news report said. The four remaining water distribution sites would close once their stock is exhausted, but residents would still be able to obtain free filters and cartridges.Flint residents started lining up at one distribution site on Monday before noon, when it was due to open, a news report said.
