A British pensioner was in hospital after being STABBED at home by his Thai girlfriend - when he tried to break up with her.

Kim Fuller, 67, was with Wasana Kande, 38, at an apartment in Pattaya, Thailand, when she suddenly lashed out.

The furious girlfriend grabbed the nine-inch long kitchen knife and plunged it into Fuller's stomach.

She fled the scene at the Diana-Estate Condominium while Fuller was rushed to hospital.

Officers arrived at around 7pm shortly after the attack and found blood on the walls.

They caught Wasana nearby with her bloodied grey crop top in a plastic bag and she confessed to stabbing Fuller.

She told police that he wanted to break up with her and demanded she leave his house - which caused her to get angry and attack him with the knife.

Wasana was pictured pointing to the weapon while being walked on a re-enactment.

Fuller, who is originally from Blackpool in Lancashire, was visited in his hospital bed on Saturday morning at Pattaya Memorial Hospital as part of a press conference, in which officers delivered a get-well-soon hamper.

He told them: ''I'm so thankful that you caught her quickly. I'm very impressed with how quickly you did.

''I'm not feeling great, today. But I'm still alive and I'll be better soon.''

Police Major General Nantachart Suphamongkhon said that Wasana had confessed to attacking Kim.

He said: ''Wasana Kande was arrested on suspicion of using a 22.5cm long kitchen cutting knife to stab the British man and leaving him seriously injured."
