हिन्दू देवी देवताओं के अनेकों मंदिर दुनियाभर में मौजूद हैं। जहां भगवान शिव के साथ-साथ कई देवी-देवताओं को अलग-अलग नामों से पूजा जाता है। भगवान शिव का ऐसा ही एक बहुत सुंदर और प्राचीन मंदिर इंडोनेशिया के जावा में है। 10वीं शताब्दी में बना भगवान शिव का यह मंदिर प्रम्बानन मंदिर के नाम से जाना जाता है। शहर से लगभग 17 कि.मी. की दूरी पर स्थित यह मंदिर बहुत सुंदर और प्राचीन होने के साथ-साथ, इससे जुड़ी एक कथा के लिए भी प्रसिद्ध है।
