A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck western Japan, leaving at least four people with minor injuries and damaging buildings and roads.
Japan's Meteorological Agency said the tremor hit the city of Oda in Shimane Prefecture in the early hours of Monday morning, local time, at a depth of about ten kilometers.
It caused a partial blackout and disrupted water supply, but did not affect the Shimane nuclear power plant.
