Lemurs are easy to love because they're cute, charismatic and oddly humanlike. That's no coincidence -- lemurs are primates just like us. They're not as closely related to people as chimpanzees and other apes are, but they're still family. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, lemurs are Earth's most endangered group of mammals. About 94 percent of all lemur species have a threatened status on the IUCN Red List. Modern lemurs range from 2.5 inches to 2.5 feet tall.
