Deerfield, Illinois Bans Assault Weapons The ban includes the AR-15, which was used in the Parkland, Florida school shooting. Exceptions to the ordinance include carrying weapons that are “broken down and in a non-functioning state,” and being current or retired law enforcement official.
Gun owners have until June 13 to secure or forfeit their weapons or risk paying a daily fine of up to $1,000.
