Staff at three of Amazon's logistics centres in Germany have gone on strike, as the trade union Verdi calls for more pay for the company's staff in the country. 850 workers had joined the picket lines by lunchtime, with more expected to join them later in the day. James Wilson, the FT's Frankfurt correspondent, reports on the causes of the industrial action, and the implications for the US retailer.
