Barack Obama has won a second term in the White House, but there are $600bn of spending cuts and tax rises looming at the end of the year. Michael Hampden-Turner, macro-strategist at Citi outlines to Alphaville's Lisa Pollack market worries that US lawmakers could prefer to go over the so-called fiscal cliff rather than cut a deal.
