DALLAS, TEXAS — The Blazers were within one with 8 minutes to go in the game, but the Mavericks used a 16-7 run to open up a 10 point advantage as the Mavericks defeated Portland 115-111 Tuesday night delaying the Trail Blazers' hopes of clinching home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

Mavericks rookie point guard Dennis Smith Jr. scored a team high 18 points to go along with a team high tying eight rebounds, a game high tying eight assists and two steal.

Harrison Barnes, J.J. Barea and Yogi Ferrell scored 15 a piece as the Dallas avoided getting swept by Portland in a season series for the first time since 1998-99.

Damian Lillard had a game high 29 points for the Blazers and CJ McCollum added 16.
