5 Million Saks and Lord & Taylor Shoppers Victims of Credit Card Hack The Hudson's Bay Company, who owns both stores, confirmed the hack on Sunday saying the credit and debit card information for over five million customers was compromised. The hackers, a group known as Fin7, targeted stores in New Jersey and New York by using software installed in cash registers that sent the card's information back to the hackers. According to The New York Times, the hack was first uncovered by Gemini Advisory, a cybersecurity company. Once we have more clarity around the facts, we will notify our customers quickly and will offer those impacted free identity protection services, including credit and web monitoring. This isn't the first time Fin7 has been responsible for data hacks. In the past, the cybercriminals have hacked brands like Chipotle, Whole Foods and more.
