Thousands of Russians protest against toxic landfill

Thousands of people protest in Volokolamsk, some 120 kilometres (75 miles) west of Moscow, to demand the closure of a landfill site that has been emitting a noxious sulphurous smell, in a rare case of coordinated grass-roots civil action.
