Air traffic control at Albuquerque Center asked an American Airlines flight above southern Arizona to keep an eye out for anything passing overhead after a Learjet noted that “something” passed them at over 37,000 feet on February 24.“I don’t know what it was, it wasn’t an airplane but it passed us going in the opposite direction,” said the Learjet pilot, then another pilot quipped “a UFO!” Several minutes later the pilot of the American Airlines flight said something passed 2 – 3,000 feet above them. “[Unintelligible] if it was a balloon or whatnot, but it was really big and white or sort of had a big reflection on it, several thousand feet above us, going the opposite direction.”The area is known for high air traffic, particularly military, as an article from The Drive notes.
