AirAsia to waive bicycle transportation fees after viral video

AirAsia Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Riad Asmat has promised stern action after a passenger from Kaohsiung to KLIA2, posted a video on Facebook on Wednesday night showing baggage handlers slamming her bicycle to the ground.

Riad said AirAsia will waive all fees on bicycle transportation for the month of April as a gesture of goodwill.

AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes also responded to the incident today, saying he was really disappointed.

Fernandes said AirAsia Bhd CEO Riad Asmat, who is a cyclist himself, would get in touch with the passenger.

He clarified that AirAsia has a joint venture ground handling company called GTR.

However, AirAsia would take take full responsibility.
