The Morrocoy National Park is located in the Falcon state, in northwestern Venezuela near the towns of Boca de Aroa, Tucacas, Sanare, Chichester, Flamenco and Tocuyo Coast. It was declared a national park in 1974 and consists of 32,090 hectares. The park covers both terrestrial and aquatic areas of the Gulf Triste , containing an area of mangroves and numerous islets or cays among which are Drunk, Dead Sombrero , Sal, Las Animas and Peraza, among others, with spectacular beaches white sand beach in Mero, Paiclas, the Johns, Playuela, Tucupido, Blue, Dry Mouth and many more. In the relief Chichiriviche highlight the hill, with elevations of 250 m , the set of internal bays and mangroves and cays and islands.
