Meghan Trainor Breaks Down "No Excuses"
Meghan Trainor is gearing up to release to her third studio album, her first LP since 2016’s ‘Thank You.’ While the release date and official album title haven’t been revealed, the pop singer treated fans to the lead single “No Excuses” earlier this month.

The track is produced by Trainor and Andrew Wells, who has previously worked with Fall Out Boy and 5 Seconds Of Summer. In true Trainor style, “No Excuses” is an empowering anthem about treating others with respect and calls out anyone who defaults to rude behavior.

The pop singer tells Genius that she was inspired by her own personal experiences with mansplaining and disrespect, and felt that it was a timely song within the current #MeToo movement. She was also influenced by Aretha Franklin’s 1960s hit “Respect.”
