Canon's new flash unit makes flash photography idiot-proof. The 470EX-AI uses a laser to scan the subject and ceiling in the room, measure distance, and then calculate the brightness and direction of the flash to give you the perfect shot.
It isn't the perfect smart flash, but it's the first full size flash to automatically bounce the light, and it's pretty slick.
