President Trump is reportedly ready to make a deal on DACA, offering up to a 3-year extension of the program in exchange for border wall funding.

President Trump is reportedly ready to make a deal on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program offering up to a 3-year extension of DACA in exchange for border wall funding. The amount of money he is seeking is unclear, but GOP officials who spoke with the Washington Post indicated that Trump may be willing to let go of some of his previous demands.
Those included $25 billion for the wall, increased border security, and significant changes to key legal immigration policies, notes The Hill. Trump is said to want to solidify the scaled-back deal in time for the March 23 spending bill deadline.
While the government will likely shutdown if spending matters can't be reconciled by that date, DACA is not in immediate peril. The Supreme Court opted against accommodating the White House's request to expedite the review of the DACA cancellation.  Meanwhile, CNBC reports that according to a recent poll conducted by the GOP firm TargetPoint Consulting, "86 percent of Trump supporters would approve of a deal that increased border security in exchange for a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants covered under Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals."
