Welcome Back!\r
This is a viewer request for a real time video on how to make whipped cream icing =)\r
This video is a little loud with the mixer but I didnt feel like using a whisk =) \r
I love to use whipped cream icing on cakes because I have more control of the sugar level and the flavorings that I use. \r
\r
There are several ways to stabilize whipped cream to use it as icing.Powdered sugar, corn starch, piping jelly or gelatin. I have even used instant pudding mix on a few occasions. There are so many different ways to stabilize whipped cream, I dont know them all =)\r
I use at least 1Tablespoon of Powdered Icing Sugar per cup of Whipped Cream, usually more.I use powdered sugar instead of granulated sugar because the powder is what helps to make the cream hold its shape.\r
I whip the cream so it is very thick, keep a close eye on how the waves in the cream are holding up as you are whipping it.\r
Its best to let it set in the fridge for a while before using it. That will give the whipped cream a chance to settle into a final product.\r
\r
If you want to color some whipped cream icing for decorating, now is when you want to do that. Put some whipped cream in a little dish and gently fold in your color. Cover and let this set in the fridge as well. It will give the color time to set. Keep in mind that the colors in the decorating cream will seep or bleed out a little bit after a while.(3-5 hours) It basically makes all the letters look fuzzy. lol\r
Sometimes it settles a little soft and needs an extra little whip, its very easy to fix =)If it is too thick, add a very little bit of cream and fold in. \r
Whipped cream in the piping bag will warm up quickly from the heat of your hands. When you notice the bag getting softer, put it down and chill the bag for a few minutes. \r
Price is the best way to learn =)\r
Thank you for the request, this was fun!\r
Thank you for watching, happy decorating!\r
