Russia Threatens Military Action Against US in Syria The Russian military reportedly said it would take action against the U.S. if troops were to strike the capital city of Damascus. The threat was made by Chief of Russia's General Staff Valery Gerasimov. Gerasimov claimed militants were preparing to falsify a government chemical attack against civilians. He added that the U.S. would in turn launch a missile strike in Damascus.
